The administration of a charitable gift annuity is not a topic that gets a lot of publicity, but it is very important. It is key to understand the stages of the administration of Charitable Gift Annuities; from the illustration, to setting up the gift, making payments, and transferring the residuum to be used for the gift purpose. This session will feature how two organizations work to ensure a smooth administration process.

About the Speakers

Kinna ClarkKinna Clark, Esq.

North Carolina Gift Planning, LLC

Kinna Clark is the Director of Gift Planning Services for The University of North Carolina System. In her role, Kinna works with the Advancement team and the North Carolina Gift Planning, LLC to assist constituent institutions with the enhancement of their gift planning programs.

Prior to joining the UNC System Office, Kinna served as the Major & Planned Gifts Officer at North Carolina Central University School of Law. During her time at NCCU School of Law, she gained experience in annual, major & planned giving, grant writing, event planning, and marketing. An alumna of the UNC system, Kinna holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from East Carolina University and a Juris Doctorate from NCCU School of Law. She is a licensed attorney and was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 2014.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Kinna serves on the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Durham, North Carolina Council of Charitable Gift Planners, American Council on Gift Annuities and NCCU School of Law Alumni Association Boards. She is a member of the NC SECC State Advisory Committee and National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. She has also served on the Development Committee for the North Carolina Bar Association.

Senior Director of Gift Planning Operations
Texas A&M Foundation

Angela serves as Senior Director of Gift Planning Operations at the Texas A&M Foundation. She helps donors as they plan for the future–for themselves, their families, and Texas A&M. As well as offering support to the gift planning staff and the development staff as they work with donors on planned gifts.

In addition to working with donors, she also creates and implements marketing, stewardship and donor education plans for the Office of Gift Planning.

Angela's gift planning marketing work has received numerous awards and recognition. She has been a speaker at multiple regional and national meetings of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and Practical Planned Giving Conference.

Angela graduated from Texas A&M in 2003 and received a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University. She is married to Andy and has two growing boys, Owen and Grady. When she is not working, she is either feeding the boys or driving them to scouts, school and sports.
