The Philanthropy Protection Act of 1995 (H.R. 2519) requires the charity to notify all existing donors to a gift annuity fund and then notify all prospective donors to the fund at the time of solicitation, using a letter or pamphlet format. This law became effective on December 8, 1995. |

ACGA's Work in New York: Update
Recently, the New York Department of Financial Services in adopting the recently passed NY Bill A4599a officially signed into law on October 25, 2023, confirms that ACGA rates are acceptable for New York donors and charities to follow. As a reminder, ACGA has done the largest mortality survey EVER, and ACGA understands the ratio should be 45/55 (male/Female), and therefore, charities should rely on our rates.
